Chateau Moulins-Listrac
“Puisseguin Saint-Emilion” …. evocative wine appellation of mysteries, great wines, history and councilors ….
So! Let’s go to discover one of the highest vineyards: Château Moulins-Listrac
In 2010 the new owner, François Rudloff (photo), fascinated by the world of wine and vines, acquired this area. He became determined to make this property a reference under the name of Puisseguin Saint-Emilion. Favoring the wine on the image, the first investments were in the winery and the vineyard (replanting, furnishings, new tanks …).
What led to this passionate venture into wine?
The realization of a lifelong dream … the desire to transform a natural and fine product to a nectar reflecting the work of man and nature.
Why has he chosen this vineyard?
The original idea was to acquire a building but not a land, a type of wine, within a small geographical name …. Small yes! But famous!
After many visits, the choice was made for this property that is naturally, and proudly posed over two kinds of soils.
For him, what is wine?
It is rare that I quote as is the response of a winemaker, but facing the answer to my question was so complete and perfect that I do not see how I could have done it differently …
“Wine is an art and an integral part of our culture and heritage, we have an incredible opportunity in France to own all this land, all this mixed vineyards”
This is a way of life, the vine allows us to pick a certain reality that we tend to forget, in this world where everything moves fast. It brings us back to a human pace, where there is no use in running, you must harvest in the right point! Patience and time do more than force or rage … ”
What are you searching by creating yours wines?
Wines reflétants the exceptional land of this property, a mixture of limestone and clay, so the wines come up fresh, powerful, concentrated, and with great minerality ….
A side project, apart from various projects to modernize the productive tool or building, is that the small team in place would be able to develop in the coming years, a second wine.
Thanks to the team (Francois Rudloff and Guillaume Dupouget) for the hospitality and the time provided.
