Domaine de l’Amauve

Domaine de l’Amauve

A small property with a great passion

Domaine de l’Amauve, located in the southern Rhône Valley, appeared from the union of two Provençal families and has belonged to them for several generations. Its vineyard is certified Organic and HVE3 and is worked with respect for its soil and biodiversity. The Domaine produces wines in AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret in three colors, but its particularity is to be the largest producer of white wine in this appellation. Thanks to its aspiration for sustainable agriculture and a perfect mastery of winemaking methods, the Domaine de l’Amauve offers rich red wines, with great aging potential, and white wines from a warm terroir, surprisingly lively and fresh.

What is the signature of your wines, which helps to recognise them in a blind tasting?

Freshness is certainly the key element of my wines for two reasons. The first reason is the western exposition of our terroir, its position at an altitude of 150 meters, and its soil which contains a lot of clay. The clay provides sufficient humidity in the vineyard, even during very dry summers. The second reason is my intention to capture the natural acidity of the grapes and express it in my wines.

Do you have any specific plans for the property?

We always have projects. But we are a small estate, and what is very important for me is to have it recognised. This is my most important project.

If you present the domain, the wines, and the atmosphere on site in 4-5 words, what would you say?

Freshness, precision in the expression of fruits, work in friendly conditions for the personnes who come to help me. And also – respect for the vine, the soil, and the terroir.
