Panorama Millésima
Rhône and Bordeaux Panorama wine tastings in March 2013, my 22 “coup de coeur” wines
On March 18 & 19 (2014) Millésima organized in its bicentennial Bordeaux cellar two tasting “Dégustation Panorama“. The first was dedicated to the 2012 Red wine of Bordeaux and the second to the wines of the Rhone Valley.
What is a panorama wine tasting ?
For the occasion of these Millésima tastings offers many wines, representative of their respective terroirs, their appellations allowing tasters to have an overview of what is happening (better?) In the region. But the concept does not stop there! It is not simply a matter of taste dozens and dozens of wine but to meet and interact with winemakers and in some cases, of course, order wine.
Thus the Bordeaux Panorama Tasting wines brought together nearly 150 Bordeaux Châteaux, mainly Grands Crus and more than 200 representatives (Saint-Julien, Saint-Estèphe, Pomerol, Pauillac, Haut-Medoc, Saint-Emilion, Fronsac … )
Rhône Panorama Tasting gathered thirty wines from the Rhone Valley, red and white and roses wines sometimes confused but always in the presence of wineries (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Saint-Péray, Condrieu, Côtes-Du-Rhône, Vinsobres, Cornas…)
The advantage true these kind of tasting is to taste in the same place many wines and allow to know which are best “removed” on such and such a vintage label and to interact with those who make the wines. I allow myself once again in 2014 to add a great tasting vintages, 2012, shortly before bottling a lot more sense than Primeur tastings of wines half finished (read the article about En Primeurs 2013)
Rest assured I will not forward this article with tasting notes on 200 wines in total tasting. Below you will find just the comments wines that attracted me the most during these two Panorama tastings.
You can find all wine in wineries or buy on the Millésima website.
